Check out the latest issue (4) of Smorgasboarder Magazine! It's a sick little magazine that is free, online and in print, distributed along the east coast of oz in heaps or surf shops and the like! The current issue, issue 4 features me on page 40, Lacca's ad for Zak's on page 41, and one of my images on page 47. woo woo woo woo!
I got a few more clothes printed before i left my job. I did a few sailors in orange which look well dope. if you'd like one, please leave a comment or email me at mark.howlett@hotmail.com
they're $40~ each (plus $5 postage if i can't personally deliver it)
If you think they're shit, then you can buy better shirts from Lacca @ OvS I won't be mad. His are faultless.
just picked up a nice little piece of work by torquay based artist Adrian Knott. Adrian is also one of the people behind surf company Rake. siiiiiiiick.
I was at a mates place the other day who's studying fashion design. She had sketches all over her desk and it inspired me to draw some fashion. I also took inspiration from Seth. It is a graphic image, so don't click here if you're sensitive to a cock n balls.
Over the weekend, a few mates and myself made the trip up north to Woodford for Splendour in the Grass. I would have to say that the few days i spent there would have to come close to the best of my life. LCD soundsystem, Paul Kelly, Band of Horses all destroyed expectations. Another band that i wanted to check out, but didn't expect heaps from was Cloud Control, they would definitely have to be one of my favourite bands now. Other highlights included Foals, 2 door cinema club, hot chip, band of skulls, british india, Miike snow, Whitley, and of course the strokes. not one band i saw was a let down. so awesome.
the guys at OKE surfboards have given their 'team' page a bit of an update! if you're after a new stick, definitely give them a bell! ive had countless boards from them and they keep on getting better and better!! check me out here.
I currently have some work hanging on the walls of Godskitchen on Barkly Street in Mornington. All pieces are for sale, and proceeds go to charity. Get down a have a look!
Welcome! This is now my 3rd blog. the first got out of hand with general rambling, and the second almost bored me to death with work for TAFE. So here it is; the 3rd installment of the happenings of Mark. This blog will focus purely on my own artwork and design. I hope you enjoy my work, feel free to leave a comment. thanks.
