i have a folder on my hard drive called 'assorted cool shit off the net' that's filled with heaps of random, unknown images. last week a girl at work lent me a book on design, and i can now put a name to a few of these 'cool shit' things. This book was about a number of famous artists, all of whom i'd never heard of, but work i'd seen everywhere. i'm posting it here for my own reference so i don't forget it, but also as inspiration for anyone who wants to be a mad-dog.

I was at a mates place the other day who's studying fashion design. She had sketches all over her desk and it inspired me to draw some fashion. I also took inspiration from Seth. It is a graphic image, so don't click here if you're sensitive to a cock n balls.

Splendour in the Grass

Over the weekend, a few mates and myself made the trip up north to Woodford for Splendour in the Grass. I would have to say that the few days i spent there would have to come close to the best of my life. LCD soundsystem, Paul Kelly, Band of Horses all destroyed expectations. Another band that i wanted to check out, but didn't expect heaps from was Cloud Control, they would definitely have to be one of my favourite bands now. Other highlights included Foals, 2 door cinema club, hot chip, band of skulls, british india, Miike snow, Whitley, and of course the strokes. not one band i saw was a let down. so awesome.

Open House Party

Late 2009 and early this year i worked at George Patts Y&R in Melbourne. Whilst there, I helped out with a number of projects, some being for huge clients. One however, was for a much smaller client. It was a landlord insurance company. The idea of this was to make a bogus invite for a crazy open house party, that was to take place at the owner's property, without their permission. It was of course fake, but I dont blame the people who received the email for their reaction. Of the 40 of who were emailed;

+ 13 bounced (didn't deliver)
+ 3 threatened to sue the insurance company
+ 4 withdrew their insurance policy
+ and 4 called the police

I guess you can call it an effective campaign even if it shot the company in the foot. LOLCANO over flowing with lollipops to the power of max!
